Zambezi River Victoria Falls • Zambia, Africa

Looking into going to Zambia later this year.  I have been going through the old photographs from when I was a mission kid growing up there.  Here is one of Victoria Falls.
Mosi-oa-Tunya • The smoke that thunders
One place everyone should get a chance to see and experience the mist that drenches you.

Pray for Zambia and that the Lord will bring about great renewal.

Zambia 2013 Outreach • Mission Trip

Please pray as I pray about returning to Zambia after 28 years. I will be traveling with Dr. Joan Hust or as I call her: Mom.

Many changes of course have taken place in the short time we have been away. We would like to minister to all we come into contact with especially the leadership of the Church’s and ministries that were in Joan's ministry, from Club House, Bible College, radio to the ministry trips she planned and used as tools to minister to many people during her time there.

Zambia, like all of that part of the world is extremely beautiful, and has many people with a heart for God serving HIM. Being able to come and show that there are those around the world who care and encouraging them can be a great blessing for not only them but yourself as well. Their way of life and their testimony can change your heart and your testimony can help them.

Zambia is predominantly Christian that includes the Seventh-day Adventist, The Church of Latter-day Saints and Jehovah's Witness. Pray that God's Word can touch every heart and that all may see Him in the light and strive to serve Him in everything. Pray that the walls that separate them from Jesus will be broken down and that His love will flow like the oceans across the land. Pray that those who have given their life to Jesus will be strengthened to overcome all the hardships and temptations that come their way. Pray that God will bless Zambia and its people.

Please pray for the support I need to make this trip.

I plan to do video work so everyone can hear what is going on in Zambia and that the testimony of those living and working in Zambia can touch those around the world with God's love.

If you think ministering to those outside of your city and country is not right then you are not called overseas but to minister to those next door and around your town. So get out there and show God's love no matter where you are. Let people around you see God's love at work in your life and don't forget to invite your neighbors over for dinner every few months so that they can see HIM in you.
If you don't think you are called to minister to your neighbor then I am sorry to say you must be rejecting His call to go. Don't let fear stop you from greeting someone or stop you from showing God's love.

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Mark 16:15-18

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
If you have a heart from God to minister to those in Zambia and would like to be a part of this outreach please contact Jacob for further information.

Choose to Love as Christ Loves you!

Loving deeply from the heart, this is more than just acknowledging and saying we love. It is the true, pure love that God has given us, that should be pouring fourth from our hearts onto our brothers. Love is the bond that we as Christians are to have with each other. It binds us together it overcomes the world; it is the light of Jesus shining through us. We can stand firm even in the worst of times, God has NEVER stopped loving us or loved us any less. He loves and cares for us even when we mess up and wind up on the worlds path.

Remember, His love covers all. Just as our love is to be extended even to those in sin. Love the sinner, hate the sin.  The Lord has never, and will never give up on us, therefore if this is His way, then we to should act in this manner and NEVER give up on others. For just as we have been forgiven and purified by Jesus, the other person, who may be in sin at the moment, can be redeemed and forgiven, and made pure by the blood of Jesus. This includes the sinner who has done something that we would say is the worst sin we could think of, but of course using the worlds standards. For God, sin, is sin, none bigger or lesser in offence to Him. Sin is anything contrary to Him. Once a person who has sinned repents and turns from his or her sinful ways, they are made pure and holy in God's sight, and He will remember the sin no more.

Never run from a sinner unless they are trying to get you to sin or join them in sin. The world is watching our actions and reactions to everything. They are expecting us to be forgiving and loving as Christ showed us. When we do not respond or act in the way that they feel Jesus would, and then they will criticize what we did or didn't do. Then in their mind they confirm that this is why they do not want to be a Christian.

I have seen more non-Christians that are far more forgiving and loving than many who profess to be "Christians". What kind of witness are you? What kind of witness to the world do you desire to be?

To be a TRUE CHRISTIAN, you MUST have love in your life, the same living love that Christ gives us. This love must flow from your life, flow like Christ's love flows out to us. For without this love we do not know Him.  God is love!

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Is life not quite real at times?

Prayer is talking to God. It is how we communicate with our creator. Sin cut us off from God; it is through Jesus Christ we are given access to Him again.
To know God’s Will in our life we NEED to have an active prayer life. If we don’t, then we will never know what God’s Will for our life is. Don’t try to give an excuse that God will not answer your prayer. For if you do not trust His Word you are not truly a Christian.

“In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” JOHN 16:23-24
So the question we may have is what type of things do we pray for, what should we be praying for. I need to point out that we need to have God’s true love flowing through us, we need to be in His Word, reading it and placing it in our hearts, we need to place His ways in our hearts, we need to first ask for His forgiveness, in this way we do not come before Him with sin in our hearts. God’s Word shows us many a promise that should encourage us to be bold and to have faith in our prayers.
“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” JOHN 14:12-14

Use God's Love in your ministry and life

As we look to God’s Word, we see that the love we are to have is not something He recommends or suggests for us to have or give. The love He has for us to give is a love we have been commanded to do. If we are commanded, then we can see that this pure love we are to love with and show must be an action that we MUST do. It is something we can learn to do. It is a change in our life, in our way of thinking, one that
will affect our total being, our fundamental nature of our entire life, how we act, speak, and respond to situations around us. God has given us a COMMAND, an instruction that MUST be obeyed, a mandate. If the love God COMMANDED us to have was an emotional love as the world really sees the definition, then we would never be able to do as commanded, as we would not be able to love at all times as instructed, but only as we felt like.
Without pure love, love as defined by God's Word, we can have no relationship with God. Without His pure love in its fullest meaning, we are going to find ourselves lost in this world of sin.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." MARK 12:30-31

Ask the Lord • HE provides

We need to know what God's Word tells us on how to live our lives and walk His walk, keeping in touch at all times with the Holy Spirits guiding. This way we will know what His Will is for us, and we will then be able to make the good and right decisions that serve and glorify our Lord, no matter what situation we may find ourselves in. If you lack anything, from faith to food, just ask our Lord, He will give you all you need.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." MATTHEW 7:7

Honda 50 • Zambia adventures • growing up

When I was five years old I wound up having major surgery on my leg. When I left the hospital my mom had a Honda 50, the one with the folding handlebars, waiting for me. At that point in my life I did not know how to ride a bicycle.

Shortly after this my parents moved to Africa where they brought the Honda 50 with them in their suitcase.
It wasn't until I was six or seven years old that my brother showed me how to ride the motorbike. What fun that was to be able to ride through the bush going places that as a kid you would have never gone by yourself.

I wound up driving through a rebel army camp and back. I think my parents had a heart attack or two.

The Lord sure protected me as a kid.

A few years later I was going to a place called Jack's Rock where boulders the size of a block of houses formed caves and crevasses. My friends, Zambians and Neal Greyling use  to run around playing  despite a cave that was there being housed by a bunch of bandits who use to invite us in to eat and laugh at our stories.

So thank God for His ever watchful eye on us as we go about our lives. HE is faithful.
